| Giant Eel Bites Scuba Diver's Thumb Off - Video |
|
This scuba diver was getting a little too comfortable with this Giant Moray Eel. This diver's thumb was bitten clean off. He later had his toe grafted on in it's place in an operation. This video is not for the squeamish. Moray eels are large cosmopolitan eels of the family Muraenidae. The typical length for a moray is 1.5m (5 feet), with the largest being the slender giant moray, Strophidon sathete, at up to 4 m (13 feet).
