Praying Mantis Mates Without a Head

This is pure cannibalism between a male and female praying mantis.  After the male mates with the female, it has to get away as soon as possible or risk being eaten alive.  In one example in this video, the male has it's head bitten off by the female mantis and still incredibly continued to mate with the female.  Unlike mammals, insects can survive for some time even after losing their head.
