Praying Mantis vs. Mouse

Praying Mantis vs. Mouse

This is an odd sight to see an insect devouring a mammal.  But in the food chain it makes no difference if the predator is a snake, a cat, or a praying mantis.

To capture its prey, the praying mantis uses its camouflage to blend in with the surroundings and waits for the prey to be within striking distance. The mantis then uses its raptorial front legs to quickly snatch the victim.

Once in the claws of this praying mantis - the mouse meets its maker.

Check out this praying mantis below that can mate with a female even after its head has been chewed off.
