Greatest Race Horse of All Time

There is no disputing that Secretariat, an American Thoroughbred racehorse and Triple Crown winner, was the greatest and most celebrated race horse of all time.  His owner had nicknamed him "Big Red" because of his size and brilliant chestnut color.

Secretariat won the Triple Crown in 1973.  Capturing the triple crown requires the horse to win The Kentucky Derby, The Preakness Stakes, and The Belmont Stakes.  Secretariat finished in miraculous fashion by winning the Belmont by 31 lengths.
