This is the Twirl-a-Squirrel. It's an ingenious invention to keep squirrels off your bird feeder. Twirl-a-Squirrel recognizes the extra weight of the squirrel (far more than a bird would weigh), and then engages a motor that will spin the feeder just fast enough to drop the squirrel (but not fast enough where it may get injured - but they do get dizzy).
