This is a machine created by Xerox in the 1970s that pre-dated all other Graphical User Interface computers. While this video is not in English, you can see the first mouse (even three buttons), a pinball game, and a paint program. The Apple Lisa computer was already under construction when Steve
Jobs made his legendary visit to Xerox PARC to view their technology,
but there is little doubt the ALTO altered the Lisa's design thereafter
as Jobs openly admitted - and developed further down the road with the
Macintosh. |
