| Shuttle Booster Rocket Free Fall |
|
This is a cool video of a solid rocket booster separating from the Space Shuttle Atlantis. It's filmed with a camera mounted on the booster itself, so you can follow the hypnotic free-fall from from space to the ocean. The Shuttle Rocket Boosters never actually leave the atmosphere. Otherwise, they would burn up. That's why there's sound. Add to that the fact that the camera is physically attached to something vibrating, so the microphone is going to pick up that too. You can only not transmit sound across the void of space. If the microphone is attached and the vibrations are strong enough, it will still pick up the sound. |
